Senior Backend Python Developer

We are looking to recruit a talented and passionate senior Python backend developer. You will need to be interested in all things technology and have advanced Python coding skills and experience with Amazon Web Services. You will have a strong understanding of software engineering, have strong object-oriented programming skills and an understanding of automated testing including unit, integration and end-to-end testing. You will report directly to the Head of Development, though the ideal candidate will retain relative autonomy regarding how to deliver to deadlines in line with project management. We are looking for someone who has a team mentality and enjoys contributing in an enthusiastic way to the broader discussion about product strategy, to service delivery planning and to mentoring junior developers.

Lead Product Manager

About the Role

We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic and experienced Lead Product Manager to join the team as our first Product Manager, helping scale our product processes and accelerate our growth. You will own the backlog and become the voice of our customers on the team. You will be responsible for implementing the product strategy and identifying new opportunities and problems to solve. You will work with our founders and with solutions developers, platform teams and data scientists to scope the requirements and ensure that our product becomes integral to our customers’ success.

Design and validate: FeedStock’s Lead Product Manager needs to be driven by curiosity and apply their previous user-facing product background to transform our user experience. You will be client facing, making sure that the user is at the center of the product, analyzing user problems, identifying solutions and creating new requirements. You will apply your learnings to optimize our product vision and continue to grow the product, defining optimal user experiences for the different personas and planning (and executing) accordingly. You will also identify the KPIs to be able to understand how well the product achieves its objectives and how to improve.

Plan and execute: Working in an agile capacity, you will constantly validate product strategy through feedback loops, prioritise and groom the backlogs to shape deliverables,and features and future product direction.

Listen and improve:  This is a client-facing role. It will be your task to listen to our users, collect feedback and prioritise, design and plan accordingly, and to manage their expectations in terms of release schedule. On the other side, you will be supporting the sales team and the Head of Integration in explaining different aspects of the product to new clients and leads.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify market opportunities to define and refine product vision and strategy.Use business requirements and market research to assist in developing new use cases, high-level requirements.
  • Convey the overall vision and product strategy to the technical teams. Define a release plan to execute and deliver it.
  • Design wireframes, UX/UI interfaces and interaction flows of new software applications products and features, considering market analysis, customer feedback, and usability findings.

Tasks:

  • Analysing how the product(s) ties in with market needs and consumer requirements talking to our customers
    • conduct market/competitor analysis
    • define personas for the different actor user of the product(s)
    • correlate the values delivered with the user experience
    • actively solve our customers problems
  • Setting design requirements
    • set up a design framework to validate design choices
    • define flows and designing comprehensive UI frameworks
    • delineate the experience for the different actors for the different stages in the user lifecycle (i.e. on boarding, usage, support)
  • Planning for delivering the product
    • work with tech team to plan the development stages and release plan
    • forecast execution time and costs
    • help defining pricing / costs schema
  • Identifying opportunities for new products or improvements for the current ones
    • identify metrics to understand how product is performing (KPIs)
    • collect client and market feedback
    • define tools to assess is value is delivered / how it is perceived (i.e. A/B testing)
  • Documenting the product
    • writing product sheets and specs that meet the business objectives
    • writing documentation on how the product is used
    • providing support to the marketing team with material to be used

Requirements:

  • 4+ years’ Work experience as a Product Manager, Product Designer or Business Analyst
  • 2+ years’ experience leading full-stack product design in a technical field
  • Experience with enterprise products
  • Experience in client facing roles
  • Comfortable with data driven solutions
  • Be able to influence a team with conviction
  • Be an excellent problem solver, team player and be data-driven
  • Experience in UX/UI design and proven knowledge of design tools (like Illustrator and Sketch), or worked with UX designers in previous projects
  • Good understanding of technology in software development
  • Be able to manage a backlog and prioritise tasks
  • A portfolio demonstrating experience of creating prototypes or wire-frames for complex web applications and/or workflows. Demonstration of ability to create sample product design using personas, journey maps, wire-frames and prototypes is needed for this role.
